Pictures from Perth

Yah, yah.. I haven't been updating this blog as often as I would have liked... here are the pictures taken during my holiday in Perth (long overdue, I know). I have another memory loaded with pictures but unfortunately, I can't find it right now. Will upload more picts next time.

My best buddies!!

"Sureee surreee surrreeeee!"

"Ay, ay Captain!"

I tried to turn it vertical but it didn't work.
Funny... Anyway, now you'll have to tilt your
head sideways to see this picture.

Suddenly so sporty ah!

I've just started lessons on thai muay boxing and golf. Boxing is something that I've always wanted to try, and after a thai muay boxing session in Phuket with a professional boxer, I was inspired to take up the sports. Tucked in a rather quiet stretch of road, the boxing school is small but professional looking. Seems like there are quite a number of students, with many of them ang mohs. Surprisingly, there are quite a number of girls in my class as well (I believe my friend and I might have helped to encourage them to join). The first lesson wasn't so bad.... had about 15mins of warm up (skipping and stretching), following by boxing basics before hitting the punch bag. It was kinda fun, but I was quite grossed out about sharing boxing gloves with other people. Imagine the amount of sweat accumulated inside the gloves! eeeuu...

Anyway, that was for boxing. Then, I just went for golf lessons (it helps that my company is offering to subsidise part of the fee!) at Laguna Country Club. Armed with a Masters' 7 Iron and brand new LPGA gloves (I feel rather proud to own them! hehe), my friend and I hit the driving range last Sat and trained under the watchful eyes of a Pro. My oh my.... those muscles that you never knew existed started to ache and by the end of the lesson, my lower back and parts of the shoulder muscles were aching. Damn, I really need that spa session at Oriental Hotel right now! hehe... I think I was able to hit at least the 50-100m mark... will probably be going back to the driving range real soon to train again. Golf is kinda fun but it can be quite a challenge during hot weather. Really, to be able to withstand the heat and play under the blistering sun is really quite a challenge. Of course, I haven't hit the greens yet, but I can simply imagine how terrible it will be, especially to finish a 19 holes game. Gee... I'm sprouting so much golf terminology now... hope I can be an amateur pro by the end of the year. hehe...

I think I may be an addict.

Seriously, I think I'm turning into a coffee addict. I make no excuses for it, nor am I ashamed of it. Some people have addictions with alcohol, smokes and drugs.. well, mine is coffee. I guess it all intensified after I started working in Starbucks years ago. With work, came more coffee knowledge and appreciation.

Nowadays, I can't go a single day without coffee. My day starts off with a cuppa aromatic coffee- usually espresso, latte or just black- and throughout the day, coffee becomes a substitute for water and I can easily consume five cups in one day. It's terrible, when I think about it sometimes. I don't get an urge to smoke; however, I do need a caffeine fix every now and then.

There's a coffee competition going on in Singapore come March, and I think that this is a great opportunity for coffee enthusiasts to pit their skills with one another. Coffee exposure will be heightened and I hope this is one way of increasing coffee appreciation in Singapore. I really hope to be able to cover it, and to even be able to head to Japan for the world coffee-master competition. It is orgasmic thinking about a room that not only smells of coffee, but is filled with all coffee-related items and people. This is my ideal mass orgy. -lol-

Not the best shot pulled in my opinion, but I
love the warm, cocoa color of fresh espresso,
with that rich, foamy crema....
