Sorry lah, my picture of KK isn't nicely photoshopped like Xiang's DF doughnuts pict but whatever. They taste better anyway. =P

Xiang just brought me some doughnuts from Doughnut Factory to share with me. In case you didn't know, Doughnut Factory is the latest craze to hit Singapore. Rumored to be the best doughnut in Singapore, the shop at Raffles City is always packed with people and the line can be really long too. Xiang's friend took 2 hrs to queue for 2 dozens of doughnuts. Honestly, I think the labor is slow and cos of long baking time, that's why the queue is always so long. So it creates an impression that the doughnuts are really good as there's always a long queue when in reality, it's probably due to the slow baking process.

Anyway, we tried 3 doughnuts- one with peanut butter filling, another with chocolate (or nutella) and an orange-flavored one. For more about DF doughnuts, visit Xiang's blog.

My verdict is.... Krispy Kreme rocks still!!!

Really, nothing can surpass KK. KK is the best in the world! It's soft, melts in ur mouth, and just the right amount of sweetness and flavor.

For Doughnut Factor (DF), the filling is hard to begin with. It felt like eating solid peanut butter or nutella with bread. The dough isn't even very soft or crumbly like KK's. There was a cheese-coated one as well, which I didn't really think much of as it was just weird. I don't like doughnuts or things that go way out to be weird so that they can be considered "innovative" when it's actually pretty gross in my opinion.

DF: 6/10
KK: 9/10

Texture:
DF: 2/10
KK: 8/10

(KK wins because even though their variety is considered ordinary, the taste surpass the weird or so called "innovative" creations from DF by a mile)

Honestly, the melts in your mouth doughnuts can only be created by KK.... I've never tasted any other doughnuts that can give that kind of texture. I've literally tasted doughnuts from KK straight out of the oven and it's as heavenly as everyone claims it to be.

As for DF? Don't waste your time queuing for them. Even the Taka ones are better. I think second to KK would be Dunkin Doughnuts, which unfortunately, Singapore lacks.

For the love of God, will somebody please bring Krispy Kreme to Singapore???
